The girls and I went to some garage sales this morning. It was a good thing that Averi brought her big peanut jar filled with change that Papaw gave her, or she might have missed out on this beauty.
And it was a steal at just one quarter.
She even found the perfect outfit to go with it.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T. - Aretha Franklin
Full circle? Well, maybe not quite yet....but close (I hope)!
I remember the days when Jordan wouldn't let me out of his sight. He'd ask daily if I could come have lunch with him at school. He kissed me (GASP) on the lips (GASP) in front of other people (Double GASP).
Then slowly things seem to change. I think I first noticed it when dropping him off at school one day and went to give him our usual big "good-bye" smooch on the lips and was DENIED. The lunch invites stopped. I heard the word "embarrassing" more than "I love you". He preferred I not be in his sight or rather in his friends' sight, cause of course nobody else has parents.
Then something happened. If I didn't have the picture to prove it, I would think it was all a dream. I wrote a little poem to better describe the event.

There was a magnificent Jazz concert at school,
A proud mom watched as her son played so cool.
After he was done playing, he danced with a girl,
He moved and grooved and gave her a twirl.
Then a familiar song began to play,
That mom and son use to listen to back in the day.
Then walked over an extremely handsome fellow,
And he asked for a dance from a girl dressed in yellow.
