Averi's Music Program

Averi had her "Art of Praise" music program tonight. It was fabulous. It's so much fun to watch all of the kids! Averi truly enjoys performing and takes it very seriously. We didn't have our camera settings right, so the pictures didn't turn out too great.

Kinsley's LOL

She did it! Eddie had her smiling so big, and then she let out the sweetest little laugh! It's so funny how something so simple could bring us so much joy. We were so excited!

She also had her 2 month check-up on Wednesday. She weighed in at 10 pounds and 13 ounces. She is doing so well. Dr. Newton said we "hit the baby lottery".

Eddie

My wonderful husband, Eddie! The picture is of him and Averi building a bird house together. Averi has a shirt that says, "My Dad can fix anything". It is so true! That's one of the many things I love about Eddie. You have no idea how much money he saves us because he can repair just about everything himself! He's an amazing husband and father. He is hilarious, and we just "get" each other. It's hard to believe that we have known each other for 10 1/2 years. We have definitely gone through our struggles, but we finally caught on to the fact that the only way our marriage will work is with God at the center. We also have learned not to take ourselves too seriously! We laugh alot. He loves me unconditionally and trusts my judgment & values my opinions. I trust him completely and never doubt that he puts us before himself. He provides for us in every way.

I overheard him talking to someone the other day about me. He was telling this person, in such a proud way, all about how much money I save in groceries. He went on to say, "Yeah, she even buys reduced meat. She got these great steaks for like $3.00 and theres's nothing wrong with them." I mean he was just really bragging on me. I was thinking, "Oh my goodness, this person is never going to want to come to my house for dinner!" Anyway, it was just so sweet to hear him gush over me in such a proud way over something so small.

Once again, I can only give God all the glory for allowing me to be Eddie's wife.

Kinsley

Kinsley Grace! This is our precious baby! She is almost 2 months old. She is such a good girl. She is very laid back. We are enjoying her so much. She has started smiling and "talking". We are anxious to hear her first laugh.

She is sleeping all night - sometimes up to 10 hours! Praise God for that! When she was born, we thought she looked almost exactly like Averi, but we are starting to see differences. One big difference is her curly hair...only when it's wet though.

Right now, she mainly just sleeps and eats. I think she would prefer to sleep all day. She has been a sort of lazy eater...she doesn't take after Daddy when it comes to that! She's also got this one arm raise thing going on. She'll even sleep that way, with one arm raised straight up. I guess she's praising the Lord!

It's just amazing the amount of joy children bring!

Averi

Sweet huh! This is our beautiful Averi. She definitely keeps us on our toes. She's strong willed & independent, but she is also so loving and sweet. She is well rounded! She loves playing dress up and having daddy paint her toes....just before she she climbs up on the furniture to dive off!

She is constantly entertaining us by the funny things she says and does. She said the sweetest thing to Eddie the other day....."Daddy, thank you for taking care of us." It melted his heart. That same day she told me, "Mommy, I don't think Kinsley likes your hair." This was after I just got a new short haircut!

She loves playing with her friends and going to church. She also loves picking on her big brother and helping with her little sister. Her most used phrases are "I can do it all by myself" and "I don't need any help".

She is starting T-ball in a few weeks, so she is excited about that!

More to come later!

Jordan

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Hebrews 12:1

Alright, I'll have to be very careful here with my comments about Jordan. He's at that wonderful exciting age of 13. So, of course, most of what I say and do is absolutely embarrassing to him. Although I would love to write about most everything going on with him, out of respect for his privacy, I will be cautious with what I say when it comes to things going on in his daily life.

Completely undeserving, God has allowed me to be Jordan's mom. He turned my bad choices & sin into a huge life-changing blessing. "From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another." John 1:16

Jordan is and has been a great example to me. He is constantly challenging himself. He loves the Lord & makes it obvious by his words and actions. He has a sweet and caring heart.

We recently found out that he is being inducted into the National Junior Honor Society! How awesome is that? He will also be trying out for track next week. He's enjoying his drum set immensely. In fact, we've got a little neighoborhood band. Since Jordan has the drums (which aren't easily moveable) practice is at our house :)

Check in later for more news about Jordan!

First "Blog"

Okay, I am actually attempting this widespread trend of "blogging". I was inspired by my dear friend, who forwarded me the link to her blog today. I was so impressed by it and realized it would be a fantastic way of keeping a journal & "goings on" in our life that our friends and family might enjoy from time to time. My prayer in doing this is that I will be real with my posts and not choose my words based on who may be reading them.

So, here I go.........
